Kraft Bagel-fuls

New Kraft Bagelfuls are the newest way a dieter can enjoy bagels with cream cheese! These bagels are a little bit like “bagel twinkies” - the cream cheese is on the inside and the bagel is on the outside! There are 5 varieties, Original, Chive, Strawberry, Cinnamon & Whole Grain. The Whole Grain is 3 points per bagelful while the others are 4 points.

I think they taste great! I enjoy that they are portion controlled, because I like bagels so much I will stuff my face with them! These are smaller than I would like but that is also why I like them! For 3 points these are a new staple for me. Now for breakfast I switch between my Jimmy Dean D-Lights & these.

Rating 4/5

Price: $2.29 (estimate)

Points: 3-4 per bagelful

Summary: Very good, however I recommend them toasted. A little smaller than I would like, which makes them good for a 3 point snack or a 3 point breakfast, your choice of course. Sometimes I have them as a side dish to my salad.

Jimmy Dean D-Lights Turkey Sausage & Egg White

image I am so happy because I found breakfast that actually tastes good, is appealing, and is decent in point value. Jimmy Dean D-Lights are frozen breakfast sandwiches that come in three varieties. The one that I have tried is the Turkey Sausage, Egg White & Cheese. 3 minutes in the microwave and I have a hot breakfast that I do not feel guilty about. I am very impressed with how this tastes. I assume it would taste terrible, but it is actually wonderful! I am eating breakfast daily now for the first time in a long time. The sausage tastes like sausage, the cheese is a little crunchy but I can live with that, and as for the egg whites, I don’t notice a difference between this and whole egg. The bun is a bit chewy but still good.

I don’t mind cereal or yogurt, but I get sick of it. I enjoy low calorie bagels with low calorie cheese, but I have to drive across town to get the bagels and that became too inconvenient. I saw these sandwiches at the store last time I was there and even though I felt that they are a bit overpriced, I wanted to at least say I tried it. I am in love with these! While I only started this yesterday I got up early and did a 30 minute workout at the apartment complex gym. After taking a shower and getting ready for work I heated up one of these sandwiches. It was so yummy and satisfying. I also found myself under my points for the day. Is it true that breakfast helps you eat less overall? I am almost convinced. I did the same routine today so we will see if I have the same outcome! In any event, I highly recommend these, especially if you like generally fattening things and trying to watch your health a bit. I am going to try all three varieties and see which is my favorite.

I heard that Costco (Sam’s Club) has these for about 12 dollars for a 12 pack, or $1 each. I think that is a perfect price for these. At your local grocery store however, they are about $6.25 for a 4 pack, or about $1.50 each. I think that is a little pricey. I still think they are worth it.

Rating 4/5

Price: $6.25 (estimate)

Points: 5 per sandwich

Summary: Very good, a guilt free breakfast sandwich that tastes very similar to the *very* fattening kind.

9 lbs gone

Well I am at 9 lbs now after my 4th week on Weight Watchers. My only problem is that I was steady losing about 3 lb a week and then the 4th week I stayed the same. That was quite the bummer! Oh well. I am keeping on track, and it is so much easier this time. I am pretty thrilled…. I have added exercise and that should help. I am finding a problem with time to workout but I got up extra early to workout today now if only I can keep that up!

We shall see.

Weight Watchers Chocolates by Whitmans

Wow! Major breakthrough, people! I have passed by the Weight Watchers branded chocolate candy but I always assumed it would taste like wax or make me very disappointed. I was SO wrong!

I got a bag of Weight Watchers English Toffee Squares. 1 Point per piece. I don’t know about you but I have always loved Heath and Skor bars. Toffee paired with chocolate is one of my favorite combos. So I gave this candy a shot. I am so glad that I did. It is truly delicious, phenomenal and makes me feel like I am eating the chocolate bars that I just mentioned.

The toffee is very hard, which may bug some people, but I am fine with it. It gets stuck in your teeth and you have to work on it, which for me is half of the fun. It is not easy to go back bite after bite. You kind of enjoy it slowly and after 1 pt, you are satisfied. I am so happy with this item. I will try all of the varieties for sure now.

My only complaint about this item is the price. I believe the price for the bag was $3.99 and I didn’t realize it only had 6 pieces in there. That is some expensive candy right there. However I am happy that I discovered it, I could see me enjoying a piece a day after dinner for that sweet craving.

Rating 4/5

Price: $3.99 (estimate)

Points: 1 per piece

Summary: Very good, reminds me of Skor/Heath bars.

Amazing Discoveries

Weight Watchers Points program really puts things into perspective for dieters as far as calories, portions and fiber! Suddenly, when you join the WW program, fiber is your bestest friend! It makes food items healthier and you can eat more because the points are less depending on how many fiber grams the item has!

I have always had some appreciation for fiber but not as much until yesterday when I was putzing around on the Starbucks website looking at nutritional content for the drinks! (I am not giving up my vice just because I am counting points!) I found an item that is not listed on the Starbucks menu. Espresso Frappucino Light! A tall sized Espresso Frappucino Light is only 1 point, but most of the Tall Light Fraps are. The magic was when I entered the content for the Venti sized drink. TWO POINTS! Can this be real? Coffee really has that much fiber? It’s true!

At 110 calories, 0.5 Fat grams and THREE grams of Fiber, this is the best size value for your point value as far as I am concerned! I can get by with a Grande sized drink most of the time but then there are those days you want that big HONKIN coffee drink while shopping or working. If you stick to the Espresso Frappucino Light it will barely make a dent in your points for the day. Thank you Starbucks, for this awesome drink. It is deicious if you appreciate a stronger coffee flavor to your drinks, I know I do. I want to remind you again that this item is NOT actually listed on the Starbucks menu in the store, but if you ask for it they will know exactly what you mean! The summer is saved!

P.S. In case you were wondering how many points are in a Grande Espresso Frappucino Light, the point value is the same as the Venti: 2!

2.5 lbs gone.

So I have been strict on the points this week and I am down 2.5 lbs. Not bad! I just about killed myself on Monday this week doing The Biggest Loser exercise video. The lunges actually killed me. I am writing this blog post from the grave. I was so sore I was limping for 3 days. I know it sounds pathetic, but I am not **THAT** out of shape. (But I am pretty bad LOL) I am pretty sure it was a minor injury from doing it wrong. In any event it is healing and I am better now.

However it is ok because I am in this to win this! Me and A are hard core and always supporting each other. It has been great and working well! Finally a like minded friend that also needs to lose weight. Yay us!

So I realized I really need to write down the items and recipes I make up somewhere so expect that in the near future. I also need a list for 1 and 0 point items. Audience contributions are welcomed.
